Hour of Code

Kindergarten through Eighth Grade students participated in the International Hour of Code during Computer Science Week.  The goal of the Hour of Code is to introduce students to computer/video game coding at a young age.  Students applied programming skills to navigate puzzles, solve problems, control robots, and to animate the Google logo.

Mr. Hauenstein and Ms. Scholze Monthly Theme Field Trip

Mr. Hauenstein and Miss Scholze focus on a different social skill each month and complete various activities with their students. For the month of October, respect was the focus. Six students were selected by their classmates to attend a field trip to the zoo this past Saturday.  Despite the rainy weather, everyone had a great time visiting the different animals. This month's theme is being caring, and a different group of students will be selected at the end of the month for another field trip!

University of Pittsburgh Women's Basketball Student Day

A select group of PAW and Buddy Project Students from Woodland Hills Intermediate, Wilkins, and Edgewood had the opportunity to watch the Pitt Women’s Basketball Team defeat Cornell University on Monday during the annual Student Day Game. As part of the day's events, the students took a pledge to do their best and help others.
