Journey Around the World

4th Annual "Journey Around the World!"
Open House: May 23, 2013, 6:30-8:00 PM

* If any Dickson families have items to lend to the "International Museum", please send them to school by Wed. May 22.  Mrs. Casey will keep all items safe and secure.  


Students, parents, faculty and staff will enjoy displays of student projects, music performances, an international museum, interactive art activities, refreshments and more!

This is an annual school-wide, interdisciplinary project where students research and experience culture, history and geography of various regions around the world through “virtual travel”. The project takes place each spring and culminates in an Open House in May. Students are studying the following regions:

Pre-Kindergarten: Our Community (Swissvale and Pittsburgh)

Kindergarten: North America (including Caribbean Islands)

1st Grade: Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, Micronesia, Polynesia)

2nd Grade: Central & South America

3rd Grade: Europe & Russia

4th Grade: Africa

5th Grade: West Asia (including Middle East)

6th Grade: East Asia
