Second and third grade students in the gifted program at Edgewood Elementary competed in the 2017 poster contest sponsored by the Paralyzed Veterans of America organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. The theme of this year’s contest was “The Love of Country—Veterans Pride,” and students were encouraged to creatively depict what the theme means to them.
The poster contest was open to all students (public, private, or homeschooled) in grades one through four throughout the entire United States, and posters were judged based on their expression of theme, artwork style, and creativity. The Paralyzed Veterans of America organization awarded Cameron Peretti, a third grade student at Edgewood Primary here in the Woodland Hills School District, the overall grand prize out of all posters entered. Cameron will be receiving a “Thank You” award plaque from the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
