Braddock Medical Clinic to serve uninsured
A medical clinic to serve the uninsured is open in Braddock. The Free Clinic will serve people living in and around Braddock who were previously served by UPMC Braddock. The Clinic is staffed by volunteer doctors and will operate out of the Braddock Municipal Building, 415 Sixth Street, from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The location is temporary until a more suitable location can be found.
For now, services do not include pediatrics or women's health. In the long term, there is a plan to add specialists and expand the office hours. Eligible residents must be uninsured and have household incomes at or below 350% of federal poverty guidelines. Eligible patients must bring recent tax statements, proof of address and a medical assistance denial letter.
The clinic will not be open Labor Day weekend. The clinic is a project of the Muslim Council of America.
